Free 1982 Reunion Pictures

"The 1982 and 1957 UNC title teams gathered in Chapel Hill on Feb. 10, 2007 for an extraordinary reunion. Scott Fowler was there to cover the event and also shot a few pictures. If you would like any of these pictures digitally e-mailed to you for FREE, simply e-mail Scott at ScottFowlerBooks@aol.com with which pictures you want (there are eight in all). Happy Viewing!
Picture1: Sam Perkins, James Worthy, Michael Jordan and Dean Smith share a laugh while watching a video clip on the screens at the Smith Center on Feb.10, 2007.
Picture 2: 1982ers Bill Guthridge, Eddie Fogler, Jeb Barlow, Jimmy Black and Jim Braddock applaud members of the 1957 team as they are introduced to the sellout crowd at the Smith Center.
Picture 3: Michael Jordan waves to the appreciative crowd as the 1982 team is introduced. My wife's comment on MJ's suit: "It looks awfully 1970s, but if he's wearing it, I guess it must be in style."
Picture 4: Chris Brust, Timo Makkonen, Warren Martin, Buzz Peterson and Lynwood Robinson -- all of them valued reserves on the 1982 team.
Picture 5: Danny Lotz (partially obscured), Joe Quigg, Tony Radovich, 1957 National Player of the Year Lennie Rosenbluth and Bob Young look on during introductions. Young brought Bob Cunningham's old No.32 jersey on-court in tribute to Cunningham, who died of cancer in 2006. To Young's left is the 1957 trophy earned by the team for winning the '57 national championship under head coach Frank McGuire. (If you want a good book on the 1957 team, I highly recommend "The Best Game Ever" by my friend Adam Lucas).
Picture 6: James Worthy -- who now lives in Los Angeles and does television work there for the Lakers -- took a red-eye flight to arrive just in time for the reunion on Saturday morning. Worthy was kind enough to give an extensive interview for "Jimmy Black's Tales from the Tar Heels." Here the Gastonia native is with MJ and Dean Smith.
Picture 7: Perkins, Worthy, Jordan and Smith -- quite a Big Four. I'm not sure why they were looking so serious here.
Picture 8: Backstage before the teams were unveiled on-court, Jordan joked with Warren Martin (now a teacher and coach himself) while coaches Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge greeted friends.

Remember, the book "Jimmy Black's Tales from the Tar Heels" gives the only insider account available about the magical 1981-82 season and includes lots of great vintage pictures from that season 25 years ago.
