Six former Tar Heel basketball players featured in Scotts new book North Carolina Tar Heels: Where Have You Gone? were kind enough to join him at a book signing/celebration at Taylor, Richards and Conger clothing store in Charlotte on Dec.1, 2005. More than 100 fans turned out to see the players and buy every single book the store had in stock on a successful, fun night.
From left to right, the former UNC players in this picture are BOBBY JONES, who now helps run a sports ministry in Charlotte called 2XSalt; DAVE CHADWICK, the senior pastor at Charlottes Forest Hill Church; LEE DEDMON, now a high-school principal at Gastonias Highland School of Technology; SCOTT FOWLER, author of the book; AL WOOD, now a principal and basketball coach at a private religious school in Charlotte; BRIAN REESE, a high-school basketball coach in the Charlotte area; and RICHARD VINROOT, the former mayor of Charlotte and now a practicing lawyer.

Eric Montross and Scott Fowler catch up at a recent Tar Heel basketball game in Chapel Hill. Montross is one of the 35 players featured in Fowler's new book "North Carolina Tar Heels: Where Have You Gone?" Montross is one of the easiest Tar Heels to find these days, as he sits alongside Woody Durham as the new (and extremely tall) color analyst for UNC basketball games. Incidentally, did you know Montross's NBA career was ultimately ended by a baby gate? |

| Former Charlotte mayor Richard Vinroot, also featured in the book, dropped by and was warmly received. Vinroot scored a single point in his Tar Heel career but will tell you that, other than his mother, no one wrote him more than Dean Smith after he finished college and volunteered for Vietnam.
